Like in most European plugs, the power pins of Danish plugs are 19 mm (0.75 in) long and spaced 19 mm (0.75 in) apart, with a diameter of 4.8 mm (0.19 in). The earthing pin is part of the plug (in contrast to French and Schuko plugs); it is U-shaped, 14 mm (0.55 in) long, and offset from the power pins by 13 mm (0.51 in).
Schuko sockets can accept two-pin unearthed Europlug (CEE 7/16) and CEE 7/17. Less safely, Schuko plugs can be inserted into many two-pin unearthed CEE 7/1 sockets and into some sockets with a different form of earth connection that will not mate with the earth contacts on the Schuko plug (e.g., some variants of the Danish socket).
Similar converters are available for a variety of other plug types. Unlike a temporary travel adaptor, conversion plugs, when closed, resemble normal plugs, although larger and squarer.
