Fremont is a census-designated place in western Carter County, Missouri, United States. It is located on U.S. Route 60 , approximately 10 miles (16 km) west of Van Buren in Pike Creek Valley. The community was founded circa 1887.
The school board enacted this resolution in August of that year. In 2022 new elections were held, and the result was that the majority of the school board was aligned with conservatism . In 2023 that new board decided to end the resolution, citing that the majority of the board did not sign it nor vote to adopt it. [ 11 ]

All include one high school and one middle school, in addition to between four and seven elementary schools. The attendance areas are further split up into smaller areas for the elementary schools. Overcrowding in elementary schools is addressed by moving students to another elementary school in the same attendance area.
Until the elementary building was built, the middle school was called Fremont School. Once that was finished, the grades K-3 moved to the new building making the middle school hosting the grades 4-8. That was all in place until the intermediate school was built in 2007. And since it was built, the middle school hosts the grades 6-8.
