Using your own drone to inspect your own roof counts as commercial. But I wanted to get my new FPV insured (the DJI policy is way too expensive), so I checked with the local State Farm agent.

It cvovers damage to by any cause and loss of the drone. Liability insurance is provided by your Homeowners or Renters policy and any umbrella policey you may carry.
Go with a 3rd Party like State Farm Drone Insurance and you're covered all around with all the DJI hassles. Probably cheaper than DJI as well. If anyone can get a 3rd party insurance, WHY would you get the more expensive and less covered DJI Refresh?
My personal experience with State Farm for the last 3 years has been nothing but positive. I filed my first claim earlier this year, for another item (a lot more expensive than Mavic 3) covered in the same policy, received the full reimbursement check by mail in a week.
DJI Care Refresh only supports aircraft purchased from official or authorized channels, and its benefits are only eligible in the region where it was purchased." So if you are buying used from an individual you cannot get Refresh. You don't mention where you live, but in the states you could try State Farm.

Asurion Protection Plan ($57) - Three Years. Actually, just typing that out made me realize the Asurion plan is the best deal. Simone L, flyhigh2 and THE ...
The DJI is fine, but as cheap as State Farm typically is; no reason to spend more for insurance than you have to and DJI is usually more. I never used my "Refresh" I had on my Air2 - but had it before finding State Farm and a few others had drone insurance. Sadly, my carrier - USAA - does not offer it and won't cover under homeowners / etc.

SF is about $65-$75 a year and covers A-Z, including theft. That will not be covered in Refresh or probably any other "replacement coverage" policy.
Seattle, WA. Nov 9, 2021. #3. SkywalkerFeng said: So Best buy protection plan charges you $99 for every repair claim. And it does not cover fly away (e.g., drone lost to the sea). I would ditch both Best Buy and DJI's plan, and go for State Farm drone insurance. For $79/year, your Mavic 3 is covered for all damage scenario (including fly away ...
