Athens (2016 Population 3,013) [1] is a township in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) north of the St. Lawrence River , near Brockville , west of Addison , and about 90 kilometres (56 mi) south west of Ottawa .
In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Athens had a population of 974 living in 420 of its 438 total private dwellings, a change of -0.8% from its 2016 population of 982. With a land area of 2.12 km 2 (0.82 sq mi), it had a population density of 459.4/km 2 (1,189.9/sq mi) in 2021.
