Professor Penny Macbeth is a designer and educator; and current Director of The Glasgow School of Art. She took the post of Director in May 2020 [1] following an international search to replace the then Interim Director Irene McAra-McWilliam. She is a board trustee of Universities Scotland and Castlefield Gallery Manchester.
He joined the Scottish Arts Council in 1961. [3] He became Head of the Department of Fine Arts at Glasgow School of Art in 1977. He contributed to many publications on the history of photography. [3] He expanded the Fine Arts syllabus at the School. In 1989 he was made the interim Director of Glasgow School of Art, taking over from Tom Pannell. [4]
Charles Rennie Mackintosh was an architect and artist from Glasgow. Mackintosh attended Glasgow School of Art in the late 1880s. Mackintosh was heavily influenced by the Industrial Revolution. Mackintosh worked on notable architectural projects such as the House for an Art Lover and the Glasgow School of Art.
