The National Aerobic Championships was a competition of aerobic gymnastics started in 1984 in the United States. Founded by Sports Fitness International, it was the first major championship in the sport predating the Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships by 11 years.
Active International was founded on Aberdeen, Washington February 10, 1922, as The Active Club. A group of young men including Ernest Axland, Paul Arthand, Carl Morck, Carl Springer, Carl Teman, Edgar Jones, and Pat McNamara was eager to give the young men a more active part in the affairs of the community.
The course of fire is a 3 X 20, or 3 X 10, depending on the organization and location, with the top eight shooters competing in a final. The winner is again the shooter with the highest aggregate between the qualification round and the final. In most cases junior shooting is done at either 10m or 50 ft. distances.
