Hotel Valley Ho is a historic hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona. Also called the Valley Ho and, for 28 years, the Ramada Valley Ho , the hotel was originally designed by Edward L. Varney . It first opened in 1956 [ 2 ] with a forward-looking and futuristic design. [ 3 ]
Scottsdale is home to a variety of nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, lounges and bars most notably in the Old-Town district. This is evident by the growing number of style-conscious hotels that have opened up throughout Downtown Scottsdale which equally cater to the nightlife crowds.
The Safari Hotel was a resort hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona, which operated from 1956 to 1998.Designed by noted Phoenix architect Al Beadle, the Safari is noted for being one of the resorts which helped turn Scottsdale into a tourism destination, along with the Hotel Valley Ho and the Mountain Shadows Resort.
Bill Marriott had first stayed at the resort with his parents as a 16-year-old in 1948. At the time of Marriott's purchase, Camelback Inn was still a seasonal winter resort with 170 rooms and no air conditioning. [6] In March 2003, the hotel was officially rebranded by its parent corporation as Camelback Inn, a JW Marriott Resort & Spa. [7]
Landscape craftsmen from Tonga were brought to Scottsdale to create the tropical landscape surrounding the hotel. [3] The Phoenician was built at a cost of over $300 million. [ 6 ] The resort opened for business on October 1, 1988, [ 7 ] The hotel initially had 604 rooms, 132 casitas, a VIP suite and a presidential suite.
