The ThinkPad E Series (formerly ThinkPad Edge) is a notebook computer series produced since 2010 by Lenovo. It is the most affordable sibling in the ThinkPad family [ 1 ] and is aimed at small business users [ 2 ] as well as education markets.
ThinkPad is a line of business-oriented laptop and tablet computers produced since 1992. The early models were designed, developed and marketed by International Business Machines (IBM) until it sold its PC business to Lenovo in 2005; since 2007, all new ThinkPad models have been branded Lenovo instead [5] and the Chinese manufacturer has continued to develop and sell ThinkPads to the present day.
ThinkLight was a keyboard light present on many older ThinkPad families of notebook computers. The series was originally designed by IBM, and then developed and produced by Lenovo since 2005. The ThinkLight has been replaced by a backlight keyboard on later generations of ThinkPads, and Lenovo has discontinued the ThinkLight in 2013. [1]
The ThinkBook line is marketed towards small business users and gets the same market position as Lenovo's ThinkPad E series. The ThinkBook does not have a TrackPoint, physical touchpad buttons, and has a simplified keyboard layout. However, the ThinkBook has an aluminum case (instead of a plastic Thinkpad E case).

The outer case has both Lenovo and ThinkPad logos. Notably, the dot in the ThinkPad logo's "i" pulses when the unit is powered on. [1] The Twist weights 3.5 pounds and is .8 inches thick. [2] While not backlit, the Twist's island-style keyboard is spill-resistant and has U-shaped chiclet-style keys in order to enhance user comfort. [3]
