In 1893, the trust closed the Hobbs Wheeling Glass Works. It remained closed until 1902 when the property was sold to Harry Northwood—a former employee of J. H. Hobbs, Brockunier and Company. Northwood's new glass factory, named H. Northwood and Company, employed 300 people and was a successful producer of tableware until 1925.
Woodville Mall was an enclosed shopping mall off of Woodville Road (State Route 51) in Northwood, Ohio, outside the city of Toledo, Ohio. The mall opened in 1969 and, after losing most of its stores in the 2000s, became a dead mall. The mall's interior was closed in December 2011 and demolished in March 2014.

Northwood High School is a public high school in Northwood, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Northwood Local School District. Their nickname is the Rangers, with the school colors of blue and gold. They are currently members of the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.
In 1982 the company expanded to a third plant in Ottawa, Ohio. [7] Today, Hirzel Canning Company focuses on their Dei Fratelli Brand founded in 1980 and their Silver Fleece Sauerkraut products. [8] [9] Most of the tomatoes Dei Fratelli uses in their products, are grown in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. [10]
