Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (Japanese: ぬらりひょんの孫, Hepburn: Nurarihyon no Mago, lit. "Nurarihyon's Grandson") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiroshi Shiibashi. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump from March 2008 to June 2012, and later in Jump Next! from August to December 2012.
Characters who only appeared in the original Nurarihyon no Mago oneshot. Several were later incorporated into the main story or served as inspiration for characters that appear later on. The story surrounding Jami greatly resembles the premise of this oneshot. Yura Usami (宇佐美 ゆら, Usami Yura) Kana's predecessor.
On October 23, 2010 (after episode 17 and before episode 18), a 13-minute-long special episode entitled ぬらりひょんの孫 ~激闘 大フットサル大会!奴良組Wカップ!!~ (Nurarihyon no Mago: Gekitou Dai Futtosaru Taikai! Nuragumi W Cup!!) was shown at Jump Super Anime Tour 2010.
The Gazu Hyakki Yagyō by Toriyama Sekien depicts a nurarihyon hanging down from a kago. Like the emakimono, this one has no explanatory text, so not many details are known, but the act of disembarking from a vehicle was called "nurarin," so it is thought that nurarihyon was a name given to a depiction of this.
