The Monastery of Saint Paraskevi is an abandoned monastery situated on the edge of Vikos Gorge, in the region of Zagori (Ioannina regional unit), northwestern Greece. [2] The monastery founded at 1413–1414, consists of a small stone-built chapel, the oldest preserved in Zagori, and offers panoramic views to the gorge.

The church then functioned as a monastery for about forty years with the appropriate utility rooms and lodgings. Ever since October 1995, the church has served as a parish church, with a cemetery built next to it. [8] Eventually a larger church was built next to this one. The church was declared a historical monument on June 13 1990. [7]
The monastery was already in operation by 1576, though it was informally known as "Saint Paraskevi" at that time. As recorded in the Patriarchal Seal of May 10, 1611, issued by Ecumenical Patriarch Neophytos, it was officially known as the "Nativity of the Theotokos" and designated as a "Patriarchal Stavropigian Monastery."
Near the village lies the historic monastery of Agia Paraskevi, built on the edge of the Vikos Gorge. The monastery was founded in 1412 by Michael Voevodas Therianos and the people of Vitsa, as stated on an inscription, [8] during the reign of Carlo I Tocco. It was a property of the monastery of St Elias but was refounded as a nunnery in 1778.
