The Roman Baths are well-preserved thermae in the city of Bath, Somerset, England. A temple was constructed on the site between 60 and 70 AD in the first few decades of Roman Britain . Its presence led to the development of the small Roman urban settlement known as Aquae Sulis around the site.

Of particular note is the original Roman Great Bath still lead-lined and fed by the sacred spring through Roman lead pipes. A hoard of 30,000 silver coins, one of the largest discovered in Britain, was unearthed in an archaeological dig in 2012. The coins, believed to date from the 3rd century, were found not far away from the Roman baths. [15]

Ravenglass Roman Bath House: Bath House: AD 130 Remains Linked to a 2nd-century Roman fort and naval base (known as Glannoventa). The fort's defences were originally of turf and timber, although in the early 3rd century a stone wall was constructed. It was used from AD 130 until the end of the 4th century. The Cross Bath is now open to the public as a bathing spa, as part of the Thermae Bath Spa project. [16] Next to the main street entrance to the Roman Baths, visitors can drink the waters from the warm spring which is the source of the baths. The building now also houses a restaurant, where afternoon tea can be taken. [17]
