The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, were an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. [2] They were the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games.
In 2017, the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) chose Birmingham as the host city for the 2022 Commonwealth Games. After the success of the Birmingham bid, BOCCG was formed to continue the work started by the bidding team. BOCCG was officially designated as the organisers of the Games at its first board meeting on 13 September 2018. [4] [5]
