Bay St. Louis is a city in and the county seat of Hancock County, Mississippi, in the United States. [4] Located on the Gulf Coast on the west side of the Bay of St. Louis, it is part of the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area. The population was 9,284 at the 2020 census, up from 9,260 at the 2010 census.
Jerry was born to Virgil A. Fisher and Fay Lucas 'nee. He was married to Barbara Ross (born 1944) in 1962. They divorced and he later married Melva Lee Luke (maiden; born 1947) who had graduated in 1965 from Bay High School, Bay Saint Louis. Barbara and Jerry had a son, Anthony J. (Tony) Fisher (born 1964). Melva and Jerry had no children.
Within 15 years, Love and his staff had transformed Gulf Coast tourism by attracting more than 100 conventions to the hotel each year. During summers, the hotel hosted Mississippi's Miss Hospitality Pageant, and business thrived through the 1950s. In 1958, a new motel style addition was added on the beach side of the hotel, south of U.S. Route 90.
The population was 4,058 at the 2000 census. It was not included in the 2010 census. The area is now largely within the city limits of Bay St. Louis, although some of the western side of the former CDP is still unincorporated after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. [1]
