The 2011 tournament was expensive and poorly attended, and it was unclear if a third event would be feasible. In what Chris Tang describes as the tournament being "saved by a miracle", the Portland Retro Gaming Expo – held at the Oregon Convention Center – made arrangements for it to be held there in 2012.
