Luffy defeats Alvida and escapes with her cabin boy, Koby, who dreams of becoming a Marine. Luffy and Koby sail to a Marine base in Shells Town to get a map of the Grand Line, a treacherous route believed to house the One Piece. The pirate hunter Roronoa Zoro is arrested for fighting Helmeppo, son of Marine Captain Morgan, but is freed by Luffy.
Luffy defeats Spartan after he tries to punch him several times, nearly getting disqualified, until a fighter named Sai explains that Spartan was the one who started the fight. Also, the Funk Brothers argue with Dagama, claiming he's 'forming alliances' in his block.
After reading about the Reverie in the newspaper, Luffy's group finds themselves in the perilous sea surrounding the Land of Wano. The crew then encounters a school of giant koi fish. The clear water makes the crew wonder if they're in a river as the current leads them to the bottom of a waterfall.
