Turtle Creek Stadium (formerly Pit Spitters Park and Wuerfel Park) is a 4,660-seat multi-use entertainment facility in Blair Township, Michigan, in the United States.It hosted its first regular season baseball game on May 24, 2006 as the tenants of the facility, the Traverse City Beach Bums, [1] took on the Kalamazoo Kings.
The Pit Spitters advanced to the playoffs with an overall record of 52–20 (.722), winning both halves of the season. In the playoffs, the Pit Spitters first defeated the Kalamazoo Growlers 2–0 (8–1, 5–4) in a best-of-three series and then the Madison Mallards 3–2 to advance to the Northwoods League championship game.

In 2018, the franchise was sold to the owners of the Midwest League West Michigan Whitecaps who folded the Frontier League affiliation and launched a new team in the Northwoods League, the Traverse City Pit Spitters. [1] The team is represented in the Frontier League Hall of Fame by pitcher Scott Dunn and first baseman Chase Burch. [2] [3]
