Pentti Kalevi Karvonen (15 August 1931 – 12 March 2022) was a Finnish steeplechase runner. He competed in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 1960 Summer Olympics . [ 1 ] Karvonen died on 12 March 2022, at the age of 90.
Karvonen was born in Eastern Karelia.He took part in the Battle of Viipuri as a 13-year-old. After the civil war, he took part in the Heimosodat in Estonia and the Aunus expedition and served in the French Foreign Legion between 1920 and 1923.
