As each teams plays 8 times and there are only 7 possible opponents, there must be some repeated pairings. These repeats are confined to the first and last rounds, or putting that another way, every teams plays every other team once in the first 7 rounds. If you only have 3 games, then assign the G4 column to be the byes.
The 7 rounds are repeated in rounds 8 to 14 with the home and away teams reversed. The fixture has home and away pairing for teams 1/2; 3/4; 5/6; 7/8 with alternating 1/2. There are no runs of 3 home or 3 away games. Such runs have to be minimised. The table allocation is balanced overall; but not quite balanced for H and A matches for each ...
Round robin tournament schedule for 8 players. Note: A balanced schedule for 7 players can be formed by using match 1 as the bye match. Let player 1 be a ghost, and the other player in match 1 sits out the round.
If you use v5.1 of the Excel generator, then you can easily make two Double Round Robins for 5 teams, and these are all the within-division games, that would give 10 rounds of play with one bye in each division per round. Then you could add extra rounds of between-division games taken from the schedule below. (A4 B3) (A5 B4) (A3 B1) (A2 B2) (A1 B5)

Yes this is possible, however to make things balance out each player must have one other opposite gender player with whom they never meet as partner or opponent. Such a schedule is usually presented as a spouse avoiding tournament. There is an 8 player schedule here and also some links to some larger ...
I need a schedule for 8 teams, 6 of them play at the same day, 1 team is on duty, and 1 team is free. So, 3 matches each day, 2 byes. If e.g. team 1 and 2 are bye, they will have to meet another day. Thanks in advance! Wim
Newbie. 0. on: October 14, 2020, 12:16:15 AM. Looking for a pickleball doubles round robin schedule for 9 players with the following requirements: - each player to play 8 games. - each player to play with a different partner for each of the 8 games (understand that two players will never play as a team but that is fine) - using 2 courts.
Round 1: (1,2) vs (3,4) and (5,6) vs (7,8) with 9,10 on bye. Round 2: etc. We are open to how many rounds we would play, though ideally it would be somewhere in the 10-15 rounds range. (While this tourney has a specific # players, would be great if a scheduler existed that allowed one to plug in N players and X desired rounds.)
With the criteria of: Players/teams playing each game once. Players not repeating any match-ups. Should any of these scenarios come into play I could use your tables to have: 5 games and any multiple of 10 players. 6 games with any multiple of 12 players. 7 games with any multiple of 14 players. 8 games with any multiple of 16 players.
The total number of byes must be 30, or 3 byes per player, so the total number of games per player is 12. But with 12 partners, and 24 opponents your criteria must be exceeded, otherwise it is possible to construct a suitable schedule. For example: Court 1 Court 2 Byes. (7 2 v 9 6) (3 5 v 1 10) (4 8)
