Batang West Side (also known as West Side Avenue and West Side Kid) is a 2001 Philippine crime film. The film written and directed by Lav Diaz. Its cast includes Gloria Diaz, Raul Arellano, Joel Torre and Angel Aquino. [1] [2] The film gives an inside look at the life of Filipinos in America.
Isah Red of the Manila Standard gave Saranggola a positive review, calling the film thematically challenging. He praises director Gil Portes for focusing on how the crime affects the relationship of the father and son, in the form of Jan SvÄ›rák's Kolya. Though he considers the film's premise as encouraging, he criticizes the film's pacing. [4]
