Opened in 1921 as a grand movie palace and vaudeville live performance venue, the theater was known as the Macomb Theatre until 1987, when it went through a series of name, use and ownership changes. [3] The theatre was designed by noted theater architect, C. Howard Crane, who also designed Detroit's Orchestra Hall and Fox Theatre. [4]

Intermezzo Cafe, located on the north end of the lobby between Colwell Playhouse and the Studio Theatre, provides full meals, snacks, and refreshments throughout the day and before/after performances all week. The cafe is certified by the Illinois Green Business Association, and all proceeds go back into Krannert Center events.

The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Illinois is a respected Chicago area regional theatre. Attached to the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort, the theatre produces an average of five musicals each year, presented in the round, as well as productions aimed at younger audiences. The theater opened in the 1910s, with a capacity of 1,000 people. In 1965, the theater became the "Town Theatre", eventually showing adult films and featuring live burlesque by 1967. In the 1970s, it was purchased by Dale Niedermaier and John May, refurbished and reopened as "Park West", the music venue and special events space May 11, 1977.
