Wolf Creek Ski Area (WCSA) is a ski area in southwest Colorado, located on the Wolf Creek Pass between Pagosa Springs and South Fork. It is best known for receiving more average annual snowfall than any other resort in Colorado, at about 430 inches per year.
The creek rises just to the west of the Wolf Creek ski area at the Continental Divide near the top of Wolf Creek Pass.From there it flows west, paralleling U.S. Highway 160 for several miles until it passes under the highway on its way to its confluence with the West Fork of the San Juan River near the bottom of the pass.
The field is primarily used for football, and all five High Schools in Mesquite share use of the field. The stadium has a capacity of 19,400 people, making it the largest high school football stadium in Texas. It's the largest stadium in Mesquite, followed by EH Hanby Stadium, a 11,950-capacity football and soccer stadium. [3]
The city of Mesquite was founded on March 14, 1878, on land along the Texas & Pacific Railway, which ran from Dallas to Shreveport, Louisiana. The locals then named the town after Mesquite Creek. The city was officially incorporated on December 3, 1887, after electing Mayor J.E. Russell. [15]
Mesquite is located in southeastern Doña Ana County in the Mesilla Valley, on the east side of the Rio Grande. Interstate 10 passes just east of the CDP, with access from Exit 151. I-10 leads northwest 13 miles (21 km) to Las Cruces, the county seat, and southeast 35 miles (56 km) to El Paso, Texas.
