The Netball NSW Premier League is a state netball league featuring teams mainly from New South Wales. The league is organised by Netball New South Wales. The Premier League was first played for during the 2016 season. It replaced the Dooleys State League's Waratah Cup as the top level netball competition in New South Wales.
Between 1980 and 2014, the Netball NSW headquarters were based at the Anne Clark Centre in Lidcombe. It was officially opened on 11 October 1980 and named after Anne Clark, who had served as the organisation's president between 1950 and 1979. The 2024 Australia England netball series featured Australia and England playing three netball test matches in September 2024. [1] [2] The Australia team were coached by Stacey Marinkovich and captained by Liz Watson. The England team was coached by Jess Thirlby and captained by Fran Williams. Australia won the series 2–1.
In January 2020, Netball Australia announced an All-Stars match for the pre-season featuring the Australian Diamonds and the best players from the Super Netball league. The match was played as a fundraiser for relief efforts for the 2019–20 Australian bushfire season , which had been particularly devastating. [ 32 ]
