Union Cemetery, also known as South Elm Street Cemetery, is a historic cemetery located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The cemetery for African-Americans was established in 1882. Union retains 97 gravemarkers with death dates from 1882 to 1940.
First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1824 [1] and was the first chartered Presbyterian church in the city. [2] [3] Four of its 12 original members were slaves.Thirty to 40 slaves were members by the time of the American Civil War, and after being freed, 37 former slaves started Saint James Presbyterian at Friendly Avenue and Church Street.
He also studied at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Duke University graduate school. [3] [4] He married Ann Fuller on Aug. 31, 1956 in Durham County, North Carolina. [5] They had three daughters: Ellen, Carole, and Lisa. [6] Stone became the associate pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Durham from 1959 to 1962.

The church was built in 1891, and is a one-story, frame building with a gable roof topped by a belfry.
