The Galena Historic District contains more than 1,000 buildings constructed before 1900 that are considered contributing properties. [6] [8] The center of downtown Galena is laid out in three parallel segmental tiers starting at Main Street closest to the river. Beyond Main Street, and at a higher elevation, are Bench and Prospect Streets. [6]

The Fredericksburg Historic District is located in Fredericksburg, Texas in Gillespie County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in Texas on October 14, 1970 [ 2 ] The district area coincides with the original platting of the town by Herman Wilke, and the streets are laid out in a wide grid.
