Cub Lake, October 2015. Cub Lake (58 acres (230,000 m 2)) offers swimming, jon-boats and paddle boats. Boats are rented between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Cub Lake offers a free public swim beach. The large recreational lake, Pin Oak Lake at 690 acres (2.8 km 2), features two boat ramps. Water skiing in the park is allowed on this lake only.
The Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway, also known as "The Trace," is the major north–south roadway that traverses the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area in two counties in western Kentucky and northwestern Stewart County in northwest Middle Tennessee. Kentucky Lake is managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority. Much of the current lakeshore above the Eva site is part of Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park. The submerged Eva site is visible from atop Pilot Knob to the north and from the Eva Beach boat ramp to the south.

Several roads which are now used as boat access ramps were once roads down into the town of Awalt [5] which sat in the bottom of a hollow in one of the lowest points of the current lake. The townspeople were mostly farmers. The population was nominal. Most people living in Awalt moved into Franklin County or Coffee County after the lake came.
