Kaizer Chiefs Football Club (often known as Chiefs) is a South African professional football club based in Naturena, Johannesburg South, that plays in the Betway Premiership. The team is nicknamed AmaKhosi , which means "Kings" or "Chiefs" in Zulu , and the Phefeni Glamour Boys .
Kaizer Chiefs were the defending champions, having won the previous 2012–13 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season. Orlando Pirates were the defending champions, having won the previous 2011–12 season, but lost their title to Kaizer Chiefs. The season featured 14 teams from the 2011-12 season and two new teams promoted from the 2011–12 National First Division: Tuks FC and Chippa United who replacer relegated Santos and Jomo Cosmos.
This current 2022–23 of the South African Premier Division is Kaizer Chiefs' 27th consecutive season in the PSL League. [ 1 ] In December 2022 Kaizer Chiefs reached an agreement with the Municipality of Polokwane and signed an agreement to play some of their home games at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

During the summer of 2022, he was on a much-publicized trial with Kaizer Chiefs [6] and also Royal AM, before joining Cape Town City. He played several league games before the World Cup break in late 2022. In the spring of 2023, he was released after Cape Town City brought in Juan Zapata and Bertrand Mani.
