Alvin Olin King (June 21, 1890 – February 21, 1958) was an American politician allied with the Democratic faction of Governor Huey Pierce Long Jr. A state senator, he was President Pro Tempore in 1931, after Long had been elected in 1930 as a US Senator.
Toni Jo Henry (née Annie Beatrice McQuiston; [1] January 3, 1916 – November 28, 1942) was the only woman ever to be executed in Louisiana's electric chair. [2] Married to Claude 'Cowboy' Henry, she decided to break her husband out of jail where he was serving a fifty-year sentence in the Texas State Penitentiary for murder.
King's first funeral took place on April 5, 1968, at R.S. Lewis Funeral Home in Memphis. After the shooting, King was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital and was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. King's closest aides contacted Robert Lewis Jr.—a local funeral director who had first met King two days prior—to retrieve the body and prepare it for viewing.

The LeBleu Settlement includes areas extending over both Calcasieu and Jefferson Davis Parishes. [1] It is named after the first residents of present-day Lake Charles, Martin and Dela Lebleu; in 1781 the LeBleus first arrived in Lake Charles and settled six miles east of the city.
