Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area is a small ski area in southeastern Wyoming, located about five miles from the town of Centennial in Medicine Bow National Forest. At 32 miles away, it is the closest ski area to Laramie , home of the University of Wyoming .
The highest peak in the range is Clark Peak (12,960 feet (3,950 m)), located in the Rawah Wilderness along the southern end of the range in Northern Colorado. [6] [7] Much of the range is located within the Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming. The highest peak on the Wyoming side is Medicine Bow Peak (12,013 feet (3,662 m)).
The Libby Creek is a 10.1-mile-long (16.3 km) [1] stream on the eastern slopes of the Snowy Range in southern Wyoming.Libby Creek starts as it flows out of Libby Lake and flows violently down the east side of the Snowies until it empties into the North Fork of the Little Laramie.
The summit is 12,018 feet (3,663 m) high and is visible from Snowy Range Pass, elevation 10,847 ft (3,300 m), on Wyoming Highway 130, a Wyoming Scenic Byway. The most commonly used trail to the peak is a four-mile hike featuring switch-backs and a great deal of loose rock.
