Chinese pyramids are pyramidal structures in China, most of which are ancient mausoleums and burial mounds built to house the remains of several early emperors of China and their imperial relatives. About 38 of them are located around 25 kilometres (16 mi) – 35 kilometres (22 mi) north-west of Xi'an , on the Guanzhong Plains in Shaanxi Province.
It was constructed over 38 years, from 246 to 208 BCE, and is situated underneath a 76-meter-tall tomb mound shaped like a truncated pyramid. [1] The layout of the mausoleum is modeled on the layout of Xianyang , the capital of the Qin dynasty, which was divided into inner and outer cities.
The tomb (the earthen tumulus) (right) is seen with the stele inscribed "Shao Hao Ling" ("Shaohao Tomb") between it and the Shou Qiu (the pyramid) (left). The Mausoleum of Shaohao (Chinese: 少昊 陵; pinyin: Shǎohào Líng) is located in the north-east of Jiuxian Village, on the eastern outskirts of the city of Qufu in Shandong Province, China
