Eagle Point Park is a 164-acre (0.66 km 2) public park [1] located in the northeast corner of the city of Dubuque, Iowa, United States. Eagle Point is mostly situated on a bluff that overlooks the Mississippi River and the Lock and Dam No. 11. [3] The park is owned and operated by the city of Dubuque.
In 1925, Clinton acquired Eagle Point Park as part of its park system. In 1956, the Gateway Bridge (Illinois-Iowa) was opened. In 1965, the Mississippi River crested at 24.85 feet, effectively flooding the city of Clinton as well as many other cities along the Mississippi.
