The Shrine of Bahauddin Zakariya (Punjabi: مزار بہاؤالدین زکریا; Urdu: بہاؤ الدین زکریا درگاہ) is a 13th-century shrine located in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. The tomb is dedicated to the Punjabi Muslim mystic Bahauddin Zakariya , founder of the Suhrawardiyya order of Sufism .
The tomb was built between 1320 and 1324 CE in the pre-Mughal architectural style. The tomb is said to have built by Ghias-ud-Din Tughlak (r.1320-1325 AD) during his governorship of Depalpur, between 1320 and 1324 CE and was given by his son, Muhammad bin Tughluq to the descendants of Shah Rukn-e-Alam for the latter's burial in 1330.
The tomb was built when Ghiyath al-Din served as governor of Dipalpur, and likely was intended to serve as a tomb for himself, [4] [3] before he became Emperor of the Delhi Sultanate.
