The Ugly Duckling is an animated black-and-white cartoon released by Walt Disney in 1931 as part of the Silly Symphonies series. This cartoon was later remade into a color version released in 1939 , [ 1 ] which follows the original Andersen story much more faithfully. [ 1 ]
The duckling sees a flock of migrating wild swans. He is delighted and excited but cannot join them because he is too young, ugly, and unable to fly. When winter arrives, a farmer finds and carries the freezing duckling home but he is frightened by the farmer's noisy children and flees the house.

The Ugly Duckling. A comedy film and the first of three adaptations of the story by Hammer Film Productions. It has nothing to do with the story of "The Ugly Duckling", despite its name. The film is about a modern-day Henry Jekyll who is a great-grandson of the original Dr. Jekyll, and discovers his great-grandfather's formula.
The short was animated by Art Babbitt, Dick Huemer, Clyde Geronimi, Louie Schmitt, and Frenchy de Tremaudan (with assistance from a group of junior animators headed by Ben Sharpsteen) [7] [1] and directed by Wilfred Jackson. [8] Animation on the hen was done by Wolfgang Reitherman and supervised by Ben Sharpsteen.
