The Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran, also known as the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Persia, was the joint invasion of the neutral Imperial State of Iran by the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union in August 1941.
Gholamali Bayandor (Persian: غلامعلی بایندر; December 13, 1898 – August 25, 1941) was an Iranian naval officer and the Commander of the Imperial Iranian Navy from 1931 to August 25, 1941. He was killed in action during the Anglo-Soviet invasion of Iran.
The first version was created on 23 August 1941 from the Transcaucasus Military District, which was originally formed in 1922. The boundary of the Front extended along the Soviet border with Turkey and along the Black Sea coast from Batumi to Tuapse. It was commanded by Lieutenant-General Dmitry Kozlov from August 1941 to December 1941.
