The Blacklist is an American crime drama television series that premiered on NBC on September 23, 2013. Liz is supposed to be released, but Kirk's assistant Odette tries to kill Liz, who escapes. Kirk tortures Reddington and asks if Liz is Reddington's daughter. Reddington says she is. Dr. Reifler and Lucille Bockes arrive to show Kirk that treatment is possible, but Kirk refuses to take the cure.

Liz avoids capture and, with Reddington's help, frees the others. They infiltrate the presidential debate to stop the assassination of The President, but the First Lady is shot and Liz, Ressler and Aram are arrested. Reddington and his men assault the convoy taking them to be murdered. Dembe turns up and kills McMahon, saving Reddington's life.
With Reddington gone, “The Blacklist” had checked off the one name that really mattered, in a show that, other than its usefulness to NBC, should have left Reddington to rest in peace years ago.
