Fredericktown is a city in and the county seat of Madison County, Missouri, United States, [5] in the northeastern foothills of the St. Francois Mountains. The population was 4,429 at the 2020 census, [6] up from 3,985 in 2010. The city is surrounded on three sides (east, west, and south) by the easternmost parcel of the Mark Twain National Forest.

Sandy Creek Covered Bridge State Historic Site is a publicly owned property in Jefferson County, Missouri, administered by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, preserving the Sandy Creek Covered Bridge. [5] The bridge is one of four remaining covered bridges in Missouri, which once numbered about 30.
