Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga of the same name written and illustrated by AidaIro. It is animated by Studio Hibari's subsidiary Lerche and directed by Masaomi Andō, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi writing the scripts, Mayuka Itou designing the characters, and Yukari Hashimoto composing the music.
Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun (Japanese: 地縛少年花子くん, Hepburn: Jibaku Shōnen Hanako-kun, lit. "Earthbound Spirit Boy Hanako-kun") is a Japanese manga series written by Iro and illustrated by Aida, which results in their conjoined name 'AidaIro'. It has been serialized in Square Enix's magazine Monthly GFantasy since 2014.
The series was streamed with English subtitles by Crunchyroll. [1] A second season, Free! - Eternal Summer, aired 13 episodes between July 2 and September 24, 2014 and was simulcast by Crunchyroll and Funimation. [2] An original video animation episode was included with the seventh Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume released on March 18, 2015. [3]
This season debuted the theme music by Marius Constant most often associated with The Twilight Zone, replacing the first season music written by Bernard Herrmann.The graphics used for the intro were a hybrid of the two sets of graphics used for the first season, with some slight modifications to Rod Serling's narration.
The season gained high Nielsen ratings; "No Reason" was watched by 25.47 million viewers, the show's biggest audience ever at that point. The second season consists of 13 episodes and started airing on July 6, 2010. [1] [2] Season two marked the first crossover event with fellow Syfy series Eureka. Douglas Fargo (Neil Grayston) from Eureka appeared in the August 3, 2010 episode of Warehouse 13, while Claudia Donovan (Allison Scagliotti) appeared on Eureka on August 6, 2010. [3]
