Prestige is the name for a brand of American-style lager produced by Brasserie Nationale d'Haïti in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. It is the best-selling beer in Haiti, claiming a 98% market share. [15] Prestige beer is also available in some parts of the United States. Prestige beer was launched in 1976, less than 2 years after BRANA's creation.
It first released its major brand Presidente in 1935, and has since expanded to other brands such as Bohemia Especial, Presidente Light and Ambar. [1] The first two are pilsener beers that fall in the category of lager beers, and the latter is the company's first incursion into dark beer. Its current brewery complex was opened in 1951.
The beer is the flagship product of Dominica Brewery Limited, a subsidiary of Cervecería Nacional Dominicana (itself a subsidiary of AmBev, which in turn is a subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev) as of February 24, 2010.
