East Cobleskill – A hamlet on the town line in the northwestern part of the town, located on NY-145. Huntersland – A hamlet in the southeastern part of the town by Little Schoharie Creek. It was first called Huntersville. Middleburgh – The Village of Middleburgh is in the southwestern part of the town at the intersection of NY-30 and NY-145.
One of New York State's 62 counties, Schoharie County was created with its own borders in 1795. The modern-day area of Schoharie County once fell under the boundaries of the expansive Albany County. Numerous times after the 1683 creation of Albany County, partitions of its area were divided up reassigning parts of the land under new dominions.

The Schoharie Valley is made up of plains surrounding the Schoharie Creek. Within the Schoharie Valley are the towns of Middleburgh, Schoharie, Fulton, and the Hamlet of Breakabeen. Vroman's Nose is an isolated mound of bedrock created by glaciers fity thousand years ago. [1] The Valley is cut in the middle by NYS Route 30.
