Thadam (transl. Trail) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language crime thriller film [2] written and directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Produced by Inder Kumar, the film stars Arun Vijay in a dual role along with Vidya Pradeep , Tanya Hope , and Smruthi Venkat .
Magizh made his directorial debut with the 2010 romantic comedy film, Mundhinam Paartheney, featuring a cast of newcomers. His second film, the action thriller, Thadaiyara Thaakka (2012), featuring Arun Vijay and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles, released in June 2012. It eventually went on to become a sleeper hit. [2]
Smruthi made her career in a uncredited role in the film Indru Netru Naalai (2015). Her first significant role was in Thadam, alongside Arun Vijay. [3] After Thadam, she acted in another Tamil film with Sathyaraj titled Theerpugal Virkapadum, which had a delayed release in 2021. [4]
A remake of the Tamil film Thadam (2019), it follows a murder investigation involving a civil engineer and his lookalike as prime suspects. The film was announced in October, had its principal shoot commenced in November 2019 and ended in March 2020. Most of the film was shot in Hyderabad, except for two songs that were shot in Italy.

The film and the ensemble cast won positive reviews for its portrayal of a family. She then featured in the action drama, Adhibar (2015) as the lead actress opposite Jeevan . [ 6 ] [ 7 ] Pradeep then worked on Pandiraj 's Pasanga 2 (2015) portraying the mother of a small child.
