Metro FM is a nationwide FM radio network broadcasting from Istanbul. It is one of the first privately founded radio stations in Turkey and the first foreign music station. In 1996, Açık Radyo acted as a semi-official radio station for the UN HABITAT (II) Conference held in Istanbul, broadcasting bilingually for fifteen days.
