The accident, which also left twenty-seven people injured, occurred when a PUTCO bus collided with a minibus taxi on the Moloto road near Kameeldrift. It was started by the British road crash victim charity, RoadPeace , in 1993 and was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005.
