Mayavi (English: The Genie) is a 2007 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film directed by Shafi and written by the Rafi Mecartin duo, starring Mammootty in the title role with Gopika, Sai Kumar, Manoj K. Jayan, Salim Kumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vijayaraghavan and Santhosh Jogi in supporting roles.

Mammootty (born 7 September 1951), is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Malayalam films. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of all time. He has acted in more than 420 films in Malayalam and other languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English and Kannada films.

Salim Kumar was born on 10 October 1969 in North Paravur, as the youngest son of Gangadharan and Kausalya.He once told an interviewer that his father was an atheist and a follower of the veteran social reformer Sahodaran Ayyappan, who was also from North Paravur, and so named his son Salim Kumar to avoid religious associations.
