The Western Collegiate Hockey League (WCHL) is a Division 1 collegiate ice hockey league in the ACHA, which is the highest non-varsity Club Level for college hockey. The ACHL is made up of ten teams from the Western United States.

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association is an NCAA Division I women's-only conference operating in the northern Midwest states of Ohio, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. [18] Apart from the three titles won by Clarkson, every other National Collegiate women's title has been won by a WCHA team.
In 1951–52, the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League (MCHL) formed as a conference. Two years later, it changed its name to the Western Intercollegiate Hockey League (WIHL). By 1957–58, however, a major disagreement over recruiting caused the dissolution of the conference with all member teams becoming independent schools for the following season.
