Course equivalency is the term used in higher education describing how a course offered by one college or university relates to a course offered by another. If a course at one institution is viewed as equal or more challenging in subject and course material than a course offered at another institution, the first course can be noted as an equivalent course of the second one.
The school originally offered secondary education. After 1991, when the last of its secondary school students finished their Leaving Certificate examinations, the college changed its focus, running both full-time day courses and a night school.
The college runs full-time and part-time courses in accountancy, business, law, engineering, computing, and information technology, and has a range of part-time courses available. Originally located in the Old Town Hall, Rutland Street, Limerick, it moved to a newer and larger premises on 31/32 Upper William Street, Limerick, in December 2008. [1]
