Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta has three campuses in walking distance. Campus 1 is on Ir. H. Djuanda Street in Ciputat, Banten.Campus 1 (The main campus) comprises the Rectorate Building, Main Library, administrative offices, main auditorium, the guest house, the Student Center, Center for Integrated Laboratory, Bank Mandiri, BNI Bank, BRI Bank, and seven faculty buildings.
The faculty of tarbiyah in Cirebon originally affiliated with IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah was absorbed by the university as well on March 5, 1976. [3] In the next development, in 1993, two new faculties were established; the faculties of da'wah and adab. In 1997, the post-graduate program was opened.

Komaruddin Hidayat (born October 18, 1953) [1] is an Indonesian academic and intellectual. He has been rector of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University Jakarta since 2006.
At the end of the 1950s, Muslim community leaders in East Java proposed the idea of establishing an Islamic college through the Ministry of Religious Affairs.They held a meeting in Jombang in 1961, and during the meeting, Soenarjo, who later became the rector of Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University, attended as a resource to convey the necessary issues for the foundation of the college.
