Bill M. Williams (1932–2019) [1] was an American trader and author of books on trading psychology, technical analysis, and chaos theory [2] in trading the stock, commodity, and foreign exchange (Forex) markets. His study of stock market data led him to develop a number of technical analyses that identify trends in the financial markets.
John J. Murphy is an American financial market analyst, and is considered a proponent of inter-market technical analysis, a field pioneered by Michael E.S. Gayed in his 1990 book. [1] He later revised and broadened this book into Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets. [2]
Drummond developed and popularized the "Point and Line" method of technical analysis, [1] also known as "P&L Charting" and Drummond Geometry. His methods are in use today among technical analysts and traders. [2] [3] In recent years his work has also been noted by Forex Traders. [4] Drummond is the author of nine books [5] and a website.
In finance, MIDAS (an acronym for Market Interpretation/Data Analysis System) is an approach to technical analysis initiated in 1995 by the physicist and technical analyst Paul Levine, PhD, [1] and subsequently developed by Andrew Coles, PhD, and David Hawkins in a series of articles [2] and the book MIDAS Technical Analysis: A VWAP Approach to Trading and Investing in Today's Markets. Brian Shannon, CMT (November 16, 1967) is an American author and technical analyst.Shannon published his acclaimed book entitled Technical Analysis Using Multiple Timeframes in 2008 to educate beginning and intermediate day traders on the tools and techniques that have made him "one of the best indie traders in the business".
