State Road 434 (SR 434) is a major roadway in the Central Florida area. Starting at SR 424 (Edgewater Drive) just north of Orlando city limits, the road runs north as Forest City Road through Forest City before dropping the name at the Seminole County line.
Waterford Lakes Town Center is an outdoor mall in the Orlando, Florida metropolitan area. [1] [2] The mall is located a few miles south of the University of Central Florida on North Alafaya Trail, just off Florida State Road 408.
Alafaya is a census-designated place and unincorporated area in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 92,452 at the 2020 US census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is most known for being near the University of Central Florida, Avalon Park and Waterford Lakes.
Several portions of SR 50 east of SR 436 follow the original Cheney Highway, which was named for John Moses Cheney and was the first road to the coast from Orlando. Full travel from Orlando to Titusville on the Old Cheney Highway, however, is not possible due to the demolition of a bridge over the Econlockhatchee River. [2]
At some point, Alafaya Trail was taken over from SR 50 north past the University of Central Florida to downtown Oviedo. SR 520 was extended west on SR 50 and then north on Alafaya Trail, ending at SR 419 and SR 426 in Oviedo. In the 1980s, SR 520 was truncated back to SR 50, and Alafaya became an extension of SR 434.
Phase I of the Innovation Way project is the extension of Alafaya Trail from Avalon Park to SR 528. The project as designed will include a 4-lane roadway complete with sidewalks and an on-road bike path and will cover a total distance of 4.81 miles (7.74 km).
