Frazeysburg is a village in Muskingum County, Ohio, United States, along Wakatomika Creek. The population was 1,354 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Zanesville micropolitan area. Frazeysburg is home to the world's largest apple basket, which is located on the Longaberger homestead. [5]
Its former corporate headquarters on Ohio's State Route 16 is a local landmark known as the "Big Basket". [4] Built to resemble the company's top-selling product, the "Medium Market Basket", the seven-story edifice is a well-known example of novelty architecture. [5] Longaberger was acquired in 2013 by CVSL, Inc., and closed in 2018.
In the 19th century Dresden was an important trading town on the Ohio and Erie Canal. A side cut canal linked the Ohio and Erie Canal with the Muskingum River. [12] Mordecai Ogle settled on a farm about half a mile northeast of Dresden in 1802. [11] In 1804, Seth Adams had a "corn-cracker" mill on Wakatomika Creek. [10] [11]
