Myra Estrin Levine (December 12, 1920, Chicago, Illinois [1] – March 20, 1996, Evanston, Illinois [2]) was an American nurse, theorist, author, and researcher. She is known for creating the Conservation Model of nursing.
The central concept of Levine's theory is conservation. [5] When a person is in a state of conservation, it means that individual has been able to effectively adapt to the health challenges, with the least amount of effort.
